In August 2017, Volkswagen presented its new brainchild to the world - the Volkswagen T-Roc subcompact crossover. The official debut of the model took place a few weeks later at the annual Frankfurt Motor Show, although the first prototype of the model was shown back in 2014 in Geneva.

It should be noted right away that T-Rock became the first crossover of the company, combining such a bold and modern design, a multifunctional interior and an advanced technical component. Considering all this, it is not surprising that the main target audience of the novelty within the company is seen by young people who prefer active recreation and appreciate the wide possibilities of personalization.

The appearance of the Volkswagen T-Roc

Perhaps no one will argue with the fact that the Volkswagen T-Roc is one of the most stylish and designer cars in the Wolfsburg-based lineup. Only the Arteon business liftback, shown by the carmaker in March 2017, can compete in this aspect with the novelty.

So, frontal part of the body T-Rock received frowned head optics, a massive hexagonal radiator grille with a large company logo in the center, as well as a raised bumper with a massive trapezoidal air intake, expressive DRLs and compact foglights.

Profile showcases muscular wheel arches, a sloping roofline and massive C-pillars. It is also worth highlighting such a design element as a stylish chrome insert running along the upper contour of the side doors.

Completes the image of the car stylish feedfeaturing a sculpted bumper, trendy LED side lights and a sporty diffuser with stylishly styled exhaust pipes.

In terms of dimensions, the Volkswagen T-Roc is a typical representative of subcompact SUVs:

Length, mm4234
Width, mm1819
Height, mm1573
Wheelbase, mm2603

According to the passport data, the front / rear wheel track is 1.546 / 1.541 m, while the length of the front and rear overhangs is 831 and 800 mm, respectively.

Potential buyers of the crossover are offered an assortment of 11 body colors, among which the colors "Flash-Rot", "Energetic Orange" and "Ravenna Blue" deserve special attention. In addition, there is a choice between 6 R16-R19 wheel designs and three roof colors.

Interior design of the new VW

The interior of the novelty is made in the spirit of the latest models of the company - it has an attractive, modern and thoughtful design, as well as perfectly calibrated ergonomics, which has long become the hallmark of all Volkswagen cars.

Directly in front of the driver there is a stylish and sporty multifunction steering wheel cut from the bottom, as well as a highly informative instrument cluster, which, as an option, can be fully digital and have a diagonal of 11.7-inches. On the central panel, the manufacturer has placed a 6.5 or 8 ”screen of the multimedia information center, under which there is a block of auxiliary buttons and a control panel for the climate system, represented by three multifunctional switches.

Front row riders comfortable seats with well-defined lateral support and a sufficient number of adjustments are offered. A wide armrest can be installed between the chairs in the depths of which there is a niche for various small things.

Despite the fact that the car's interior is declared by the manufacturer as a five-seater, only two adult riders can sit behind with maximum comfort. This is due to the strongly protruding central part of the sofa and the high transmission tunnel.

Trunk volume in the standard configuration it is 445 liters, but if you fold the backs of the rear sofa, the user gets not only a flat cargo area, but as much as 1290 liters of loading space.

Separately, it is worth recalling the wide possibilities of personalizing the interior, in particular, about decorative inserts on the front dashboard, center console and inserts on the seat upholstery, made in the color of the car body.
